Seven people were arrested by the Spanish authorities in Marbella on suspicion of being members of a drug trafficking ring, including one Belgian national.

Following searches in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Spain, a total of seven individuals were apprehended during the operation. The Belgian suspect was accused of being one of the group's ringleaders.

In May of 2020, 556 kilograms of cocaine were discovered in Brazil, kicking off the police's investigation. Following this, an additional 2,300 kg were found in Antwerp and over 1,000 kg in Rotterdam, in the Netherlands.

Investigators then learned that the drug traffickers were based in southern Spain, and they were eventually apprehended at their property in Marbella.
