A man has been arrested after two police officers were stabbed in central London on early Friday morning.
The stabbings occurred at around 06:00 near Leicester Square and resulted in both officers being transported to hospital, with one believed to be badly injured.
The assailant was arrested after being stunned with a taser; an investigation into the incident has been subsequently opened.

This has occurred in the run-up to the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II on Monday, which has posed "a massive challenge" for London's police force according to Mark Rowley, new commissioner of the Metropolitan Police.
