The future is now! E-trucks are a reality and today the European Clean Trucking Alliance (ECTA) – a coalition of European key players in road freight – is hosting an historic event, including a live demonstration at AutoWorld, Brussels to showcase the future of electric trucking.
The landmark event will be attended by a broad representation of the EU's most influential players in the electrification of road freight transport, including key European policy makers, truck manufacturers, representatives from across the mobility and logistics sectors.
Throughout the day, participants will be able to take part in a series of exclusive activities including:
- All-day test drives with 10 different electric trucks from truck makers Volvo Trucks, Renault Trucks, Scania, DAF and BYD.
- Witness the signing of a Joint Declaration for an ambitious EU policy to decarbonise EU road freight transport. This declaration will send a collective message to decision makers on the need and urgency to establish clear roadmaps and binding targets to help accelerate the decarbonisation of urban logistics and long-haul freight by 2050.
- A Q&A session with European companies operating or about to switch to e-trucks to learn about their perspective and exchange best-practices. Speakers include AbInBev, Contargo, Nestlé, Van der Wal, CV Charging Europe, ICCT, T&E, DPDHL and Geodis.
- A live debate with top policymakers to discuss key opportunities for change and concrete actions to boost the deployment of e-trucks on European roads. Watch the debate live on The Brussels Times platforms.
