According to a survey by FPS Mobility, the Flemish commute by bicycle five times more than people from Wallonia and 4 times more than the people of Brussels. Twenty percent of the inhabitants of the north use their bike at least five days a week, against4% in Wallonia and 5% in Brussels.
Twenty-four percent of the Flemish ride their bicycles a few days a week against 7% in the south of the country and 9% in the capital while 16% state that they ride their bicycles from one to several days per month (11% in Wallonia and 10% in Brussels).
The people of the south are in the lead when it comes to riding a bike from one to several times a year: 20%, against 16% in Brussels and Flanders.
Finally, the capital has the highest percentage of people who state that they never use their bicycles (59%) with Wallonia following (58%) and Flanders far behind (24%)
