After advertising for 760 job vacancies at the start of the year, the capital's public transport operator, STIB, has announced that 300 positions are still vacant within their company

After their announcement in January, twinned with a willingness to increase the share of women among their staff, the public transport company is still looking to employ an additional 300 members of staff by the end of year.

While the job openings mainly concern technical staff, STIB are also on the lookout for engineers, IT staff, technical graduates and support staff (HR, finance and sales in particular).

At the end of July, the company had announced that 651 positions had already been filled, but new ones opened up in the meantime due to changes on their network and various development projects, STIB explained in a press release.

Furthermore, while admitting that the job market had rebounded following the pandemic, STIB noted that they were not the only company looking for technical or IT profiles.

“Applications are rare for certain functions and we are looking for very specific profiles, or profiles for which there is a shortage on the labor market”, they concluded.
