Dieudonné has recently applied to organise a show at Liège's Palais des Congrès, reported the La Meuse newspaper on Friday. For this to happen, the city council will have to approve the show and may instead deny the request in order to avoid any public unrest. The French comedian had already submitted a similar request last March, which was denied because the Liège arena was already booked. According to the director of the Palais des Congrès, Dieudonné's manager has applied to Liège authorities for a March 2015 performance,
"I'll have to review the application and I'm aware Dieudonné's shows do not encourage community spirit. I certainly do not wish to promote anything that could cause public unrest", Liège alderman Willy Demeyer explained to La Meuse reporters.
The city council informed Belga Press Agency that for a show request for March 2015, it was still to early to say whether it would be given the go-ahead or not. The alderman will base his decision on a police report which will determine whether there are real risks of public unrest.
Dieudonné performed in Liege in 2009 at the Fabrik Herstal, where his show was a sell-out two nights in a row.
