Lola, the twelve-year-old girl who was found dead Friday night in a suitcase near her home in Paris, died of suffocation, autopsy has confirmed.

A homeless person made the gruesome discovery in the suitcase and notified the police. The girl’s body was wrapped in cloth. She also suffered injuries to the neck. The prosecutor’s office opened an investigation which has led to six arrests though their individual roles have yet to be determined.

Lola was reported missing Friday afternoon and the police acted quickly as there were indications of a kidnapping. The girl's mother reported that her daughter had not come home. Her father, who is the caretaker of the building where they live, told the police that surveillance cameras show that she had returned that afternoon.

The investigation is still ongoing with no comment from the public prosecutor for the time being.
