The Belgian company Lima Bio Food on Tuesday withdrew and recalled its Lima-brand 'thin brown rice pancakes,' in consultation with the Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (AFSCA). The move followed the discovery of excessively high levels of Aflotoxin B1 - a fungal poison - in the pancakes.

The rice cakes, packaged in batches of 130 grammes wrapped in plastic bags, bear a best-before date of 02/07/2023 and batch number R22182B. The item has been on sale since 14 September at various outlets, including Colruyt stores.

Lima Bio Food BV has asked its customers not to consume the product and to take it back to the point of sale, where they will be reimbursed. People wishing to obtain additional information can call +32 50 72 86 86 or send an email to nathalie.feys@hain-celestial.eu.
