Water and power supplies in Kyiv have been fully restored, Mayor Vitali Klichko reported on Telegram on Tuesday.
On Monday, much of the Ukrainian capital had been left without water and power after heavy Russian attacks.
According to the mayor, power will still sometimes be switched off as the capital continues to face significant supply shortages.
Russian bombing on Monday had left 80% of Kyiv’s residents without water. Some 350,000 homes were also without electricity. Electricity supplier Ukrenerho clarified later on Tuesday that, in addition to Kyiv, there would also be regular power cuts in the regions of Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Kharkiv, Poltava and Soemy.
According to Ukrenerho, these planned power cuts should prevent the network from being overloaded. They should also allow experts to repair installations damaged by Russian bombing.
Ukrainians have had to live with electricity restrictions for weeks. They are asked to reduce their power consumption, especially at peak hours. For example, washing machines and heaters should only be on at night if possible.
