A Ferrari Formula 1 car driven in 2003 by German racing legend Michael Schumacher was sold at an auction on Wednesday for a record 13 million Swiss francs (€13.1 million).
The iconic racing car was sold at the RM Sotheby auction house in Geneva.
The F2003-GA Chassis 229, with which Schumacher won five races and the sixth of his seven world championship titles in the 2003 season, fetched “a record price for a modern era Formula 1 car," Sotheby’s auctioneer said after bringing down the hammer.
