Gas and diesel prices will go down on Thursday, Belgium’s Economic Affairs Department announced on Wednesday.
The maximum price per litre for 95 (E10) gas will drop by 8.3 cents to €1.872 while the highest price for a litre of 98 (E5) gas will be €2.086, 9.6 cents less than today.
The litre price of diesel (B7) will be reduced to €1.929, a drop of 8.7 cents.
The new reduction is due to lower prices on international markets for petroleum products and bio-components contained in fuel.
The ratchet system – an increase in the rate of the special excise duty on gas following a fall in the maximum price of the product – will be applied, according to the department.
