A young man targeted a casino in Turnhout (Antwerp province), and stole 33,000 euros before handing himself into the police, we learned from a judiciary source on Sunday. The 27 year old man lives in Turnhout. He was the last customer at the Orient Express casino, in the town’s Stationsstraat. He threatened one of the employees with a knife, and forced them to hand over the contents of the till and safe. He then fled.

But the man, who was a regular customer, then handed himself into the police, said the Turnhout Prosecutor’s office.

The attacker, whose identity has not been identified, thought about fleeing abroad, before changing his mind.

He was placed under arrest by an investigating judge, we learned from the same source.
