The BEL 20 and its European neighbours end the week in the black

While Wall Street had mixed results, the BEL 20 and other European indices ended the week in the black, with the Belgian benchmark index finally regaining 1.45% at 3,651.97 points after losing 2% in three consecutive sessions.

KBC (52.46) led the recovery, gaining 3.80%, followed by D’Ieteren (174.30), which went up by 2.89%, with Ageas (37.81) and AB InBev (53.58) appreciating by 0.64% and 1.15% respectively.

Solvay (98.86) and UCB (74.26) went up by 1.92 and 1.73% respectively, arGEN-X (356.10) narrowly gained 0.03% while the only stock in the red was Galapagos (39.46), which gave up 0.38%.

Ackermans (148.40) and Sofina (225.80) were up 2.13% and 2.17% respectively on Thursday. Colruyt (25.97) and Proximus (10.69) were up by 0.46% and 1.71%, while Aperam (28.73) and Umicore (34.12) gained 0.49% and 1.25% respectively.

Heavy losses outside the index

Outside the index, Oxurion (0.102) lost 7.7%, while Biosenic (0.15) and Biocartis (1.05) lost 4.3% and 5.9% respectively, and IBA (14.38) was down 3.3%.

Inclusio (14.75) and DEME (113.30) were down 5.7% and 2.5%, Greenyard (7.01) lost 3% and Nyrstar (0.19) fell by 9.5%.

KBC Ancora (38.56) was up 4.3%, Tessenderlo (31.65) gained 4.8% and Picanol (72.60) appreciated by 2.2%.

At around 4.30 pm, the euro was at $1.0356, compared to $1.0390 in the morning and $1.0340 the day before.

The ounce of gold dropped by $4.35 to $1,755.80 and the ingot was trading at around €54,505, down €220.
