Brussels martial arts athlete Florian Bayili won the gold medal at the World jiu-jitsu pro-championship in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, on Saturday after three days of competition.
In the final, Bayili (26) took down Brazilian Carlos Henrique. Previously, he also won the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam and captured gold at the World Games in the -69 kg category (brown belt).
Another Belgian athlete, Jose Nduazulu-Ndilu, also earned a place on the podium: he won the bronze medal in the up to 85 kg class (purple belt). In the same category, Belgian competitor Balatbi Yandarbaev stranded in the second round and then in the first round of the resits.
