Sponsored by the Council of Europe since 1977, The EMYA is widely regarded as the industry's most prestigious award. The first nominee is the FeliX Art & Eco Museum, located in the Flemish municipality of Drogenbos. Surrounded by five hectares of greenery, the painter Félix De Boeck aimed to mix art and ecology by allowing residents to visit an educational farm all while admiring his avant-garde artworks.
The second nominee is the EMA, which is in a spectacular 'lighthouse' building in the Walloon town of Andenne. Inside, visitors can see various archaeological artefacts from the nearby Scladina cave.
Both must now wait until May to see if they can surpass last year's four compatriot candidates by bringing the prize back home.
