A special edition of a book about the apprentice wizard Harry Potter has been sold at auction for £8,000 (more than €9,100) the BBC reported on Sunday.
This is a rare copy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, the first novel in the literary saga created by author JK Rowling. The book was printed in a limited edition by the publisher Bloomsbury to mark the 15th anniversary of the first book. Only 15 copies were printed.
In 2012, readers had the chance to win a copy by sending a signed letter expressing their love for Harry Potter. One of the winners has now decided to auction off the book, which she has kept in her attic for all these years.
