The suspect of an armed robbery perpetrated in Woluwe-Saint-Pierre on Wednesday morning, who later injured a policeman by lashing at his throat with scissors at the Crainhem metro station at approximately 11:45am, has been charged for both offenses, attempted armed robbery with violence and vehicle, and attempted murder, revealed the Brussels prosecutor on Thursday. The manager of a clothes shop was threatened with a sharp object. A description of the perpetrator of the armed robbery was broadcast, and 2 patrolling policemen recognised a man fitting the description at the Crainhem metro station. The suspect took out a pair of scissors and injured a policeman in the neck as he was arrested.
The victim was taken to hospital but his condition is not considered critical. The offender was immediately arrested on Wednesday.
