One repeat offender stole a car just 200 metres away from the prison he was released from – after serving time for the theft of a car. Just one day prior, the suspect was picked up on the very charge by the police.
According to L’Avenir, the suspect, born in 1987, stole a car on 13 December in the province of Luxembourg. He was later picked up by police in the municipality of Bertrix.
Released a day later, the criminal took advantage of his newly found freedom to reoffend. Barely 200m down the road, the man stole a second vehicle before taking off.
The story does not end there. The suspect reoffends a third time, just over a week later, when the man managed to crash his second stolen car into a ditch near Jamoigne.
In order to recover the vehicle, the suspect deemed it logical to steal a third car to haul the car out.
