On Saturday, maintenance works carried out by Infrabel have been announced between Brussels and Haren, which are set to last until 2 April. As these will be carried out overnight, nearby residents have been warned about the possible nuisances such as loud noise and dust.

The City of Brussels has announced that Infrabel, which manages Belgium's railway network, will be carrying out maintenance works between Brussels and the suburb of Haren until 2 April.

As a result however, residents of municipalities such as Berchem-Sainte-Agathe, Ganshoren, Jette and Laeken, have been told that these works may "be a nuisance" to them as they are done throughout the evening.

Not only will residents experience noise and vibrations due to Infrabel testing out the railway tunnels' ventilation system, but they have also been warned of a risk of dust due to the works.

Furthermore, vehicles will constantly be moving near the site and various working trains will be tested out too, making it harder to sleep for neighbouring households.
