Apple is reportedly considering giving its Mac computer a touch screen, which would be a major about-turn.
Apple co-founder Steve Jobs once called touch screens “ergonomically terrible.” However, Bloomberg financial news agency reported on Wednesday that it has learned from sources that developers at the US company are actively working on the project.
This is a sign that touch-screen Macs are under serious consideration, but the plans would still have to be confirmed: Apple has declined to comment on the reports.
For more than a decade, Apple has said that touch screens do not work well on laptops and that iPads are a better option for those who want them.
In the meantime, Apple’s competitors have been launching more and more touch-screen computers.
