RTBF and VRT will enjoy exclusive broadcast rights in Belgium for the Olympic games until 2032, the Belgian public broadcasters announced on Monday. The two channels are part of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) which secured the rights alongside Warner Brothers Discovery for an additional six years from 2026.
The new agreement concluded with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) ensures that the two stations will broadcast the 30th Summer Olympics next year in Paris and the 26th Winter Olympics in Milan in 2026. It will also broadcast subsequent summer Games (Los Angeles 2028, Brisbane 2032) and the 2030 winter Games (yet to be announced), as well as upcoming Youth Olympics Games.
“Every EBU Member will broadcast more than 200 hours of coverage of the Olympic Summer Games and at least 100 hours of the Olympic Winter Games on TV, with a broad range of radio coverage, live streaming and reporting across web, app and social media platforms,” the IOC said in a press release.

Delphine Ernotte Cunci, President of the EBU and CEO of France Télévisions, said that the EBU was “proud” to have secured the deal, which enables free access to the games for citizens across Europe. “This deal is a game-changer for public service media and demonstrates the abiding strength and solidarity of our Union,” she said.
