Couleur Café announces six new artists who are performing in the lineup for their annual music festival from 23 June to 25 June.
The first artist on the lineup is Tash Sultana, a music artist from Australia. She is commonly described as a "one-man band." Sultana is most famous for her song Jungle, which was released in 2016. Couleur Café mentions that Sultana made her name for her 'dynamic live performances'.
Karpe Omar Sheriff follows Sultana as the second act to be announced by the festival. Karpe is Norway's biggest rap duo according to Roskilde Festival. Their most popular song on Spotify is (åh) Tåmy, Tåmy - Rifla x Sheriff. The two performers, Chirag Rashmikant Patel and Magdi Omar Ytreeide Abdelmaguid, have been performing together since 2000.
EARTHGANG is a duo from Atlanta, Georgia. Johnny Venus and Docteur Dot went to high school together and then college together at Hampton University. They began their hip-hop career together in 2008. They are also the co-founders of Spillage Village, a musical collective in Georgia.
Coming out of Nigeria's booming afrobeats scene, Tiwa Savage was named Best African Act in 2018 at the MTV Europe Music Awards. She has performed alongside artists such as Beyoncé and Ed Sheeran and made history as the first female Afrobeats artist to perform at Wireless Music Festival in London in 2019.
Orchestra Baobab formed in 1970 as the house band for the Baobab club in Dakar. The band members have diverse musical backgrounds. They are known for their Afro-Cuban fusion that dominated Senegal's music scene in the Seventies.
The final performer in the lineup is Kabaka Pyramid. Kabaka is a reggae artist from Jamaica. He has scored a number #1 on Billboard's Next Big Sound Charts and is a Grammy nominee for Best Reggae Album. According to The Grammy's, his third album The Kalling communicates a message of growth and gratitude.
