The expected visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the European capital on Thursday will heavily disrupt traffic in Brussels' European Quarter. EU officials are yet to officially confirm the visit due to obvious security precautions.

If it goes ahead, the Ukrainian leader's trip to Brussels for an EU-Ukraine Summit would see the areas surrounding Schuman cordoned off from 12:00 onwards.

As a result, access to Rue Archimède, Avenue de Cortenbergh, Rue de la Loi, Avenue d'Auderghem and Rue Breydel will be prohibited to motorists and pedestrians alike, with an alternative traffic plan set to be put in place.

The Brussels-Capital-Ixelles police zone has also reminded motorists that the Reyers tunnel towards the city centre will be closed to traffic for an unrelated reason from 11:00 onwards.

Public transport will be little affected, with only a few changes to note other than the relocation of the 12, 21, 36, 60 and 79 bus stops to the Maelbeek metro station.
