A man deliberately rammed a city bus into a daycare centre in the Montreal suburb of Laval on Wednesday, killing two young children and injuring six others.
The bus driver, a 51-year-old employee of the local municipality’s public transport system, was arrested for homicide and reckless driving, Canadian police said on Wednesday. Police believe that the crash was “deliberate” but are still unsure of the driver’s motives.

Around 80 children under the age of five attend the daycare facility. No information about the victims has been released at this stage. Police set up barricades around the scene of the incident.
Eyewitnesses report that the driver was subdued by three parents. The driver crashed his vehicle, opened the door of his bus, removed all of his clothing, and started screaming.
