The Dutch woman who was arrested along with suspect Peter C. (46), a man from the Limburg province who reportedly wanted to commit an attack during the Miss Belgium pageant this weekend, has been released without conditions.
Peter C. and the Dutch woman were arrested in the coastal municipality of De Panne around 17:30 on Saturday, while the man was in possession of two firearms and a bulletproof vest. It is believed he wanted to carry out an attack during the pageant.
"The investigating judge released the Dutch woman who was accompanied by Peter C. without conditions," the Federal Public Prosecutor confirmed in a statement. On Thursday, Peter C. will appear before the court in Bruges for suspicions of attempted terrorist murder.

While he denies that he wanted to commit an attack, he had reportedly already made threats that he would commit an attack in the course of Saturday afternoon, so the police increase their presence on the site from the afternoon.
"It was a real threat of an attack that could have ended badly. An attack was probably avoided," Eric Van Der Sypt of the federal prosecutor's office confirmed to VRT this weekend.
