Michel Legrand, the President of Gerfa - a trade union representing public sector worker interests, has assessed the additional costs of replacing Joëlle Milquet with two ministers at some 602,000 euros.
In the Sudpresse piblications, he accuses the President of the cdH (Christian Democratic francophone party), Benoit Lutgen, of lying. The latter is claiming that the current campaign is “neutral” from a budgetary perspective.
The President of Gerfa thus explains that the cost for a minister (including salary, social security contributions, support staff, etc.) on average rockets up to 502,000 euros, to which should be added a total of 100,000 euros for operational costs or even perhaps a ministerial vehicle.
“The efforts of the previous legislature which allow an inflationary reduction through the dual role are categorically being wasted by the cdH,” Mr Legrand denounces.
