Federal Judicial Police have found a large haul of 23 "military-grade" rifles, five handguns, and a large quantity of ammunition and explosives while searching an address in Bouge on Thursday afternoon, the Namur Public Prosecutor’s Office confirmed.
Two suspects have now been arrested. The police were accompanied in their search by the army mine clearance service and civil protection units.
Part of the haul of hidden weapons was found inside the house and some in the garden.
The two suspects are set to be heard by an investigating judge on Friday.
Police believe that the case could potentially be linked to organised crime or terrorism.
