Hidden Belgium: FOMU Café

Hidden Belgium: FOMU Café

The Antwerp photography museum FOMU occupies a converted warehouse in Antwerp’s southern docklands. It recently opened a bright, modern café on the ground floor.

The interior is decorated with pale wood tables, blue chairs and designer lamps. The walls are decorated with vintage photographs from the museum’s collection, and old cameras are displayed behind the bar.

The cafe has a generous terrace looking out on the new Zuidpark. Originally 19th-century docks, the site was filled in to create a vast car park. It is now a stunning urban park.
