Twitter users across Europe grew strangely curious about Brussels' public transport network after reading about the Belgian capital's "not the 48" bus which would take commuters to a mystery location.
A tweet published last Tuesday indicated that so-called mystery buses also existed in the capital, with the user calling on other European cities to follow Brussels' lead.
However, some did not catch the irony or at least were not as knowledgeable about the various names of Brussels' bus stops, with multiple responses explaining the joke to others. The joke event went far as being fact-checked by the British organisation Full Fact.
Just in case anyone is still wondering, there is indeed a stop called Mystère which is located near Rue du Mystère in the municipality of Forest.
Additionally, the reason why the bus' number 48 is barred is because of the bus route being deviated and thus ending its route at Mystère.
