Two people have been arrested as part of the investigation into the torture of a Dutchman found in late February in Ravels, the Antwerp public prosecutor’s office reported on Friday. Their arrest brings to three the number of suspects that have now been apprehended.
Workers in the municipality of Ravels found the 37-year-old Dutchman on a cycle road on 23 February. He had several cuts, serious injuries and had lost a finger. He was rushed to hospital.
The police and the public prosecutor’s office opened an investigation for kidnapping and torture, probably linked to the drug scene. A 23-year-old man was quickly arrested, followed by two others, arrested on Monday and Thursday this week.
