The Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI) issued a yellow alert for ice in the Walloon provinces of Liège, Luxembourg and Namur, which was in effect from 22:00 on Monday until 08:00 on Tuesday.

Despite the yellow warning having now been lifted, Tuesday morning saw large swathes of the country be engulfed by frost.

In the afternoon, temperatures will rise, reaching between 5°C and 9°C.

Light rain is expected in the west of Belgium. These rainfalls will spread across the whole of Belgium on Tuesday evening.

The RMI's report for Tuesday falls in the line with the widely varying weather of the past couple of days, which has seen Belgium experiencing both rays of sunshine and heavy rain.
