Police officers from the specialised Bijstands Team d’Appui (BTA) unit in the Brussels-North area arrested a man on Tuesday after he offered to sell them drugs, the public prosecutor’s office said on Thursday.
The BTA officers were patrolling in civilian clothes in Schaerbeek when they were approached in Rue Navez by a man who offered them drugs. The officers identified themselves and proceeded to arrest the individual.
The police seized €130 in small bills, five pellets of cannabis resin and 59 cannabis joints. The suspect was placed at the disposal of the public prosecutor and released after a hearing.
