The Antwerp 10 Miles will be completely sold out for the first time on Sunday, with 31,000 runners for the main distance. Across all distances (the Short Run and Kids Mile have not yet sold out) organiser Golazo estimates the number of participants at 37,000.
The 37th edition of the 10 Miles will pass through the city centre and the Kennedy and Waasland tunnels between the two banks of the Scheldt. The runners of the main distance will pass the Scheldt quays, the Grote Markt and the MAS, among others.
Given the large number of participants, the race will again start in several ‘waves’. Golazo and the city of Antwerp ask participants and spectators to come to the event on Sunday on foot, by bike or public transport as much as possible. Those coming from further afield can leave their car at a park & ride and take the tram or, for example, a shared bike.

The event will significantly disrupt road traffic, with the Kennedy Tunnel closed in the direction of the Netherlands from 11.30 to 17:00, the Waasland Tunnel in both directions from 09.30 to around 19:00. Many streets and car parks in the city centre will also be impossible or more difficult to reach; several tram and bus lines will have to follow diversions.
De Lijn will put on 22 extra trams on the main lines for the 10 Miles participants. But because of the expected crowds, premetro stop Groenplaats will be closed for a few hours.
