The body of a 54-year-old Spanish man was found in his vehicle parked at the express car park at Charleroi Airport on 28 April, Sudinfo reports.

It is believed that the man had actually died as far back as late January and had sat undiscovered in his vehicle until the end of last month.

Security at the airport finally discovered the body after investigating the vehicle, which had been parked at the lot for many weeks. Opening the car, which was left unlocked, the security agents made the grim discovery. At present, the cause of death is still unknown.

Several weeks earlier, the body of a woman was found under similar circumstances in Las Vegas Airport in the United States. A woman’s body is believed to have decayed for nearly a month in the parking lot, just metres from where passengers were being picked up. The woman’s body was only found when employees complained of a foul smell.
