A large explosion was heard in the centre of Milan, Italy, on Thursday morning, several local media reported Thursday.
Several cars were on fire, and a large black cloud of smoke filled the streets of the Italian city, according to initial images circulating on social networks. The blast was probably triggered by a truck carrying gas canisters.
According to the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, a motor vehicle exploded in the Porta Romana area of Milan, triggering a domino explosion reported to have involved at least five vehicles, as well as at least four mopeds.
The explosion was allegedly triggered by a lorry carrying twenty oxygen cylinders, each holding 32 litres, which was parked on the corner of the two streets, at number 19 Via Pier Lombardo.
At the moment, only one person was slightly injured: it would be the driver of the truck, who was burned in one hand.
A kindergarten, located not far from the blast, was evacuated but all the children are safe, Sky TG24 television station said.
