On the eve of the long Ascension weekend, around 10 flights were cancelled at Brussels Airport on Wednesday evening while others were delayed, the airport said on Twitter.
The disruptions are due to a shortage of air traffic controllers as well as reduced runway capacity, spokesperson Ihsane Chioua Lekhli explained. This situation is not expected to continue beyond the evening, she added.
Staff are doing everything they can to accommodate and assist as many flights and passengers as possible, the spokesperson assured.
