Air traffic with Italy was disrupted on Friday at both Charleroi and Brussels International airport.
Ground staff at Italian airports were planning to strike. Trade unions made a last minute decision to call off their action, however, at the urgent request of Transport Minister Matteo Salvini, who recalled the state of emergency in the north of the country, according to the Italian news agency Ansa.
Some flights were still cancelled at Brussels Airport and Charleroi, according to the airports' respective websites. At Zaventem, connections to Florence and Venice were experiencing issues, whilst a connection to Milan was cancelled at Charleroi.
Several Dutch airports had similar problems, with Eindhoven having to cancel flights to Pisa and Milan (Ryanair).
