The Royal Meteorological institute (IRM) has issued an alert Wednesday on the icy conditions which will last on the country’s roads until Thursday 10h. In the Liège province, the orange level alert lasts until 17h Wednesday. Elsewhere in the country, the yellow alert is in effect until Thursday 10h.
In the most affected zones, IRM expects slippery conditions and heavy snowfall or hail in short bursts.
The snow front will leave Belgian territory Wednesday evening by the north-east. Hard snow and ice will form over the night and make roads slippery and dangerous, Thursday morning.
