A motorcyclist in his forties died on Friday afternoon at the famous Spa-Francorchamps circuit during an event, the Gilles de Villers Grand Champs prosecutor announced.
Each Friday and Saturday at the race circuit are dedicated to motorcyclists. The victim, participating in a “Bikers Day”, crashed while participating in the event and died at the scene.
“According to initial information, the rider is the only one involved in this incident. A forensic pathologist and a traffic expert were dispatched to the scene,” the division prosecutor said. As of yet, there is no clear information about the circumstances behind the incident.
The organiser of the biker event has refused to comment on the incident.
