Ever had an urge to feel the wind in your hair as you zoom down a hill on an off-road tricycle? If so you might be interested in the new Mountaincart experience at the Haute Ardenne Station, located 652 metres above sea level on the Baraque de Fraiture, Belgium's highest peak.
“The Mountaincarts can reach a speed of 50km per hour but that is not the goal at all,” Julie Léonard, the director of the Haute Ardenne resort, told The Brussels Times. “The activity is for families and accessible to everyone from 11 years old. Wearing a helmet is compulsory on the descent as well as on the ascent by ski lifts.”
The three-wheeled karts are specially designed to negotiate the slopes safely while providing unforgettable thrills down the 700-metre course set up by the Haute Ardenne Station. Thanks to its fast handling, driving the kart is easy but demanding enough to get the adrenaline pumping as you descend at full speed, surrounded by the magnificent landscapes of the Haute Ardennes.

“The Mountaincart is set at an affordable price of €20 for five descents, making it a very attractive activity for adventure lovers,” Léonard added.
The Haute Ardenne Station recommends that thrill-seekers book in advance on 080/41.88.78. You can also go there on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 13:00–17:00 to experience the excitement of the Mountaincart without the need for a reservation.
