Hidden Belgium: Kafei Korner

Hidden Belgium: Kafei Korner

Two brothers and their sister have brought something new to coffee culture in Brussels.

Their Asian-style coffee bar Kafei Korner occupies a corner building facing the Gothic church where Pieter Bruegel is buried. They have other branches in lively urban locations on Rue Dansaert and Chaussée de Vleurgat.

The coffee bar near Sablon has a bright, modern interior with pale wood benches, big windows and little round tables. It’s a relaxed spot to drop in for a speciality coffee made with beans from the Brussels roastery Wide Awake.

They also have fluffy Japanese pancakes on the menu, as well as a range of cakes. The perfect spot to pause during an urban ramble.
