Brussels police reconstructed a torture scene in the capital city’s Marolles District, the Brussels public prosecutor’s office said on Tuesday, confirming a report by Bruzz media.

The actual event, which took place in 2022, had led to the death of a young man.

Yacine M. had been hired to guard a stock of drugs. After the drugs disappeared, the young man was held responsible. He was reportedly abducted and beaten with a pressing iron in a building in Rue des Visitandines.

When the young man lost consciousness, the perpetrators left him in the street. It was there that he was found before being transferred to hospital, where he died from his injuries.

In the weeks and months that followed these events, police were able to identify and arrest six suspects, who were then charged with acts of torture resulting in death. According to the Brussels public prosecutor’s office, three defendants are still in custody, including two minors.
