The video appeared on Twitter on Friday and has no date, reported Le Soir. According to Michel Henrion, former spokesperson for the Parti Socialiste (PS), who posted the video, it was recorded during a discussion about the flyer that Ecolo distributed, about being for un-anaesthetised slaughter among other things, earlier in May.

Reynders, in the video, said that he does not want to prohibit ritual slaughter in Brussels. "It will not happen with us," he said. "There is no reason to continue on that track," he added.
Je confirme que nous voulons un abattage AVEC ÉTOURDISSEMENT.

Pas interdire l’abattage dans le cadre d’une fête religieuse mais bien respecter le bien-être animal.
However, his reaction to the video leaves doubts about his position on ritual slaughter with or without anaesthesia. "I confirm that we are for slaughter WITH STUNNING. We are not going to prohibit slaughter in the context of religious festivities, but we do want to respect animal welfare," he tweeted.
