Police from the Kapelle-op-den-Bos/Londerzeel/Meise (K-L-M) zone have arrested two teenagers who robbed a bakery in Londerzeel, Flemish Brabant, in late May.
The suspects are an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old from Mechelen, the K-L-M police reported on Wednesday evening.
The robbery at Katelijne&Peter bakery, in Meerstraat, Londerzeel, took place on 25 May. Around 10 a.m., a robber entered the shop and threatened the manager. He demanded the contents of the cash register, and when she did not respond, the robber sprayed around with pepper spray before taking off.
During the robbery, a second perpetrator had been on the lookout outside. He, too, fled.
K-L-M police opened an investigation and were able to identify the two suspects. They were detained and confessed.
“The adult will have to answer to the correctional court, the minor was arraigned at the juvenile court in Mechelen,” police said. “Further investigation will have to show whether the suspects are also liable for other offences.”
