The Belliard tunnel has been closed to traffic since 10:37 on Thursday morning following an accident.
The Brussels Fire Brigade confirmed that the tunnel had been shut off towards the E40 motorway in the direction of Liège as a result of the accident involving a motorcyclist.
A spokesperson for the fire brigade also confirmed that an ambulance and other emergency services were on site.
No update has been given regarding the motorcyclist's condition or when the tunnel will be reopened to traffic.
