Seven children and two adults are reported as injured after a car crashed into a primary school in Wimbledon, southwest London, just before 10:00 (British Summer Time) on Thursday morning.
Emergency services were quick to attend the scene and believe that the driver lost control of the vehicle for “medical reasons”. Police do not consider the incident to be terrorism-related.

The collision occurred about a mile and a half from the site where the famous Wimbledon tennis tournament is currently taking place, according to British media.
The building affected is a girls’ school, catering for children aged between 4 and 11. The school was having its last day of term before the summer holidays. Several victims were inside the school when the collision occurred. Helicopter footage from Sky News shows a Land Rover all-terrain vehicle, its front end damaged, near a building on a stretch of grass.
“Several people are being cared for at the scene,” Scotland Yard added, saying emergency services and a helicopter were at the scene. “An investigation is underway to understand the circumstances of what happened.”
