A 30-year-old man was seriously injured after falling on Sunday evening from the third floor of a building in the Antwerp district of Hoboken, local police said on Monday.
The man was rushed to Antwerp’s Stuivenberg Hospital. At the time of his admission to the emergency department, his life was considered to be in danger.
The victim had been spending the evening with friends. Before the accident, he was sitting on a windowsill in the third-floor flat smoking a last cigarette before going to sleep.
One of his friends was awakened by a suspicious noise. Noticing that the victim was lying on the pavement three floors below, he immediately called the emergency services.
