Diesel and petrol prices at the pump will rise significantly from Wednesday. Due to an increase in oil prices, fossil fuels are about the same price as at their peak seven months ago, the Economy Ministry announced.

A litre of Super 95 petrol will cost €1,848 from tomorrow – 5.9 cents more than today. For Super 98, the price even rises to €2,052/L, or 6.6 cents more than the current price level.

Diesel will also cost about 6 cents more to €1,855/L – the maximum price.

Fears of high fuel prices already rose this spring after the oil organisation Opec+ (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) decided to offer fewer barrels of oil.

Fuel prices also spiked last summer due to the suspended trade with Russia. High oil costs may also have a reinforcing effect on inflation.
