To mark the 30th anniversary of the passing of the late King Baudouin, Princess Delphine inaugurated a photo exhibition dedicated to her uncle in Uccle on Monday.

The exhibition, which includes a dozen pictures of various stages of King Baudouin's life hung on the gates of the Royal Observatory, was organised after the mayor of Uccle called for a tribute to the late king.

"These photos are striking," Princess Delphine told Belga. "It is very important for me to commemorate a member of my family for whom I have great admiration. He left much too soon. I am very proud to be able to honour him in the town where I live."

A photographic tribute also inspired the Royal Palace of Brussels' commemoration of the late Belgian monarch's death.

On Sunday, the Royal Archives released photos of King Baoudouin on vacation on Instagram. The pictures were previously unpublished, according to L'Avenir.

The exhibit on the gates of the Royak Observatory is open and free for visitors until 31 August.
