Officers from Brussels North Police Zone arrested an individual for robbery with violence in Saint-Josse-ten-Noode on 29 July, the law enforcers said in a press release on Tuesday.
While on patrol, the officers spotted two individuals engaged in a dispute at Rue de la Rivière. One individual was trying to continue on his way while the second demanded money. The police then decided to follow them, fearing an altercation.
The suspect again challenged the victim, and was finally arrested for robbery with violence. The victim was not injured.
“The suspect has been handed over to the Brussels public prosecutor’s office, the Brussels North Police Zone said. "An examining magistrate has been informed and has charged the person with attempted extortion, with weapons.”
